things that can help in hard moments

When you're going through a panic attack, a relapse, a breakup, or anything difficult, try:

  • step outside and get some fresh air
  • ground yourself: notice what you can see, hear, and feel around you
  • breathe slowly: in for 4, out for 6
  • bring a loved one you trust closer to you
  • get some sunshine
  • drink some water
  • spend time with a pet
  • find something that makes you laugh, like your favorite comedy. laughter can lighten a lot of heavy thoughts and feelings.
  • work out or move your body
  • write down one thing that's on your mind

take it one step at a time.

wellness includes mental health

how you feel matters just as much as how you look. at cevii, we see wellness as the whole person: mind and body together. we're here to support you with care, respect and zero judgment.

a short self-care note

be gentle with yourself. small steps count: rest when you need it, drink water, step outside, move a little, and reach out to someone you trust. checking in with yourself is a form of care, too.

Personally, I feel like a failure… I have everything I could ever ask for: great health, great family, a great career that is unfolding. Everything I ever wanted I have, had, or am working to accomplish. My issue is that I'm stuck in the past. The past is a haunting place; good memories stay but bad ones are burned in. That's the issue with me. I can't get a grip on what's important, and what's important to me is being successful and sustainable with my loved ones taken care of. The thing that keeps getting in the way is my inability to move on. I keep repeating those "what ifs" over and over until I drive myself crazy. The scary thing is, when I'm in that zone, things get ugly and they get ugly fast. I turn to coping habits that bring me comfort but pull me further and further away from what's actually important. I acknowledge it, though. That's a very important step to improving my mental health, and I hope we can all acknowledge that this isn't normal, but it is at the same time. What I'm trying to say is that it's normal to lose control, but definitely make a change about getting a grip on that control, even if it's not the easiest thing to do. Good luck, guys!
